Celebrate Me Home is the debut solo album from Kenny Loggins, released in 1977. The album, Loggins' first since splitting from Loggins and Messina, represents a slight move away from the folk-rock leanings of his previous recordings towards a more polished, soft rock sound. Despite featuring production by famed Billy Joel collaborator Phil Ramone and jazz keyboardist Bob James, Celebrate Me Home (eventually certified platinum by the RIAA) failed to make a significant impact on the Billboard album charts, peaking at number 27. Loggins would experience greater commercial and chart success with his next album release, Nightwatch.

Now You See Me, Now You Don't is a rock gospel album by English singer Cliff Richard released in August 1982 on the EMI label. It reached No. 4 in the UK albums chart, No. 1 in Denmark, No. 21 in Australia and No. 19 in New Zealand. It was certified Gold in the UK. The lead single from the album, "The Only Way Out" was released in July 1982, and following on from the top 5 successes of Richard's previous singles "Wired for Sound" and "Daddy's Home", it managed to reach No. 10 in the UK Singles Chart. With this foundation, the album peaked at No. 4 on debut in early September - matching Richard's previous two studio albums. However the album did not receive a significant chart boost from the follow-up singles. The next single "Where Do We Go from Here" was released in September, but failed to have much impact, only managing to reach No. 60. In Germany, "It Has to Be You, It Has to Be Me" was released as a single instead, and did a little better, reaching number 36 in a five-week chart run.

After having a very successfuly year in 1986 with her first Number One single "Closer Than Close" and a Top 10 album of the same name, everyone thought big things were in store for Jean for her next outing. Unfortunately, it wasn't so. Although 1988's followup "You're A Part Of Me" was a very fine album, it was very poorly promoted by Atlantic Records. Although the album itself did manage to climb to #40 on the Albums chart and she managed a minor hit with her far superior reading of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way". This song showed Jean was capable of wailing with the best of them. Another highlight for me was an excellent cover of "Givin Up On Love". Too bad the album didn't have the success it so clearly deserved. Get this one while you can.
