The mighty Deep Purple returns with their newest studio album Rapture Of The Deep! The Mk 8 lineup of the band features Ian Gillan on vocals, Ian Paice on drums, bassist Roger Glover, guitarist Steve Morse and keyboardist Don Airey. Rapture Of The Deep promises the continued presence of one of history's biggest bands, now celebrating their 37th year with such tracks as Back To Back, Junkyard Blues, Before Time Began and Wrong Man. Deep Purple's 2005 album Rapture of the Deep generally maintains the quality of 2003's surprisingly sturdy Bananas.

And that might be true of their debut LP, put together in three days of sessions in May of 1968, but it's still a hell of an album. From the opening bars of "And the Address," it's clear that they'd gotten down the fundamentals of heavy metal from day one, and at various points the electricity and the beat just surge forth in ways that were startlingly new in the summer of 1968…

Shades of Deep Purple is the debut studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple. The band, initially called Roundabout, was the idea of former Searchers drummer Chris Curtis, who recruited Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore before leaving the project. The Mk. I line-up of the band was completed by vocalist/frontman Rod Evans, along with bassist Nick Simper and drummer Ian Paice, in March 1968.

Deep Purple's 2005 album Rapture of the Deep generally maintains the quality of 2003's surprisingly sturdy Bananas. It's the second release from the re-energized lineup of vocalist Ian Gillan, guitarist Steve Morse, bass guitarist Roger Glover, drummer Ian Paice, and keyboardist Don Airey, who replaced the retired Jon Lord…

Shades of Deep Purple is the debut album by English hard rock band Deep Purple, released in 1968. It was released without much attention in the UK, where it did not perform sales-wise. In the US on the other hand, it was a massive success, contributing largely to the attention Deep Purple would get there, and also eventually also over to the UK. Sound-wise, it is more leaned on psychedelia and progressive rock, as Ritchie Blackmore's desire of a heavier direction was not allowed to be fulfilled due to time-and budget constrains.
