Publisher: Cambridge University Press | ISBN: 0521120225 | edition 2009 | PDF | 286 pages | 1,75 mb

Katharine Gillespie examines writings by seventeenth-century English Puritan women who fought for religious freedom. Seeking the right to preach and prophesy, Katherine Chidley, Anna Trapnel, Elizabeth Poole, and Anne Wentworth envisioned the modern political principles of toleration and the separation of church from state, as well as the issues of privacy and individualism. Gillespie's analysis of "pamphlet literatures" of the seventeenth century contributes to the scholarship on revolutionary writings that emerged during the volatile years of England's mid-seventeenth-century Civil War.

The Kinematics of Mixing: Stretching, Chaos, and Transport (Cambridge Texts in Applied Mathematics) by J. M. Ottino

The Kinematics of Mixing: Stretching, Chaos, and Transport (Cambridge Texts in Applied Mathematics) by J. M. Ottino
Cambridge University Press | June 30, 1989 | English | ISBN: 0521363357 | 388 pages | DJVU | 7 MB

Professor Ottino presents a unified and systematic account of the kinematics of mixing fluids. He suggests that fluid mixing be regarded, in some respects, as the efficent stretching and folding of material lines and surfaces. This corresponds to analyzing a particular type of dynamical system, and Ottino explores the connection. The work is heavily illustrated with line diagrams, and black-and-white and color plates. The graphics aid the reader in developing a more systematic and intuitive picture, complementing the scientific presentation given in the text itself.

With the US set Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Moldovan violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja - who still lives interpretation as a recreation - staged in this program his own musical meditation on death. Allusions mostly in the medieval dance of death, pieces by Dowland, Nörmiger, Gesualdo, Schubert and Kurtág serve as interludes between the movements of Schubert quartet heard here in the proper arrangement for orchestra violinist. Despite the diversity of origin and style of these pages, the musicians were able to make a coherent whole that is not without value. As for the Quartet "Girl and Death", here's a new vision where the theatricality and contrasts accused to better express the feelings of fear, anger, desire and despair prevail over the Schubert writing at times when the -ci only subtlety, magic and transparency. Force Does the line? Discerned as we want, but we will in any case to remove Patricia Kopatchinskaja commitment, intensity and inventiveness.

Encompassing the period from the early 1560s to the late 1590s, this is the first study to link together Scottish Marian and Jacobean court literatures, presenting a relatively unknown body of writing, newly theorized and contextualized…
