Milanese band Silver Key seem to have suddenly arrived out of nowhere but in fact started out as long ago as 1992, as an official tribute act of Marillion and Fish. They've gained a loyal following by playing live down the years, including concerts with Fem and Ubi Maior, but after two decades of regular gigging have finally released their debut album of original material. It was always their stated aim to do this and at last they have found their own voice. Incidentally, the band takes its name from a short story by American writer H. P. Lovecraft where the protagonist loses the magical key that enables him to enter an alternate dimension of dreams…

This book is what I hoped it would be a great read that transported me temporarily into another scene, an interesting one. In one way it is historical fiction as it presents people and places of the 1940s, especially LA and Hollywood of that time. In another, it draws us along with Ellie in her moves and travels and motherhood issues and feelings. It is one translation of the mystery and saga that is Irish-American.

For the past 30 million years, volcanic activity has created a uniquely diverse terrain. Now, one man risks life and limb to come face-to-face with the driving forces that are still sculpting the landscape to this day. As parts of the region continue to sweat, local people adapt to survive. Ethiopia is a land of extremes and it soon becomes clear that nature hasn't finished her work here yet.

But if there is at least one American Impressionist composer: Charles Tomlinson Griffes (1884-1920). Although he studied with Humperdinck in Berlin before returning to live and die in the United States, Griffes underwent the full influence of Debussy and Scriabin - as well as of Strauss and, still, Wagner - He incorporated in his own language, especially his many works for piano. It is here that we discover, under the fingers of the pianist Emanuele Torquati (who has already signed an integral of the piano of Roussel and that of Zemlinsky), half a dozen major works of this unknown composer on this side of the In the Atlantic, written between 1910 and 1919-alas, Griffes died at the age of thirty-six from the Spanish flu, which ravaged the entire planet; If not, it seems obvious that he would have continued his ascent and would have offered not only to America but to the planet the image of a highly exploratory, inventive composer, at the forefront of his time. His Sonata of 1919 already has many characteristics that would not have denied a Prokofiev.
