Those connecting Faithful Breath from Bochum with hard rock are right as regards their later works. In the beginning, however, they played psychedelia, then, initiated by their keyboarder Manfred von Buttlar, symphonic rock dominated by Mellotron. Their first LP is considered to be their best work: "Fading Beauty", recorded at the end of 1973 and released as a private pressing in early 1974. Especially the long track "Tharsis", occupying an entire side of the LP, is a real masterpiece. Already in 1991, the LP was released as a CD in the U.S. As it was no longer available, however, a re-release was overdue, which has been made from the master tape…

Faithful Breath! This German band had been around for quite some time prior to Gold ‘n’ Glory (they released their first album in 1974). By the time 1984 rolled around Faithful Breath had four LPs under their belt. Gold ‘N’ Glory was their fifth release. The album was released on the German label, Mausoleum Records. Gold ‘n’ Glory was produced by Udo Dirkschneider (the lead singer of Accept) and Michael Wagener (renown engineer of Accept’s Balls To The Wall). In 1989, the German label Steamhammer Records released Double Thing, a single CD containing Gold ‘N’ Glory along with Faithful Breath’s 1985 album Skol.

Пятый альбом группы искавшей свой новый звук весь творческий путь. Альбом, который продюсировали Udo Dirkschneider и Michael Wagener (Именно его звук "шаров об стену" до сих пор еще у многих в ушах). В-общем хороший альбом.

Risk was german band originally known as Faithful Breath, which was formed as early as 1967 – playing Progressive rock, Hard Rock, earlier on their career, and later on moving into more traditional heavy metal fields with quite typical german sound. The band took a turn into different metal fields after their “Skol” album released at 1985, last one under the flag of “Faithful Breath”, and changed their name to Risk. The Daily Horror News was a debut under the Risk name…

To play DTS CDs you need to have equipment that supports DTS and a surround sound system that is capable of decoding the DTS signal. Don't play this on equipment that isn't compatible because you'll only hear static!

The first thing to note about the DTS version of Every Breath You Take - The Classics is that it's not an entirely faithful port of the original 1995 A&M CD release. Two tracks have been omitted entirely from the DTS release - Don't Stand So Close to Me '86 and the new "classic rock mix" of Message in a Bottle (tracks 13 & 14 respectively on the original CD). But there's one other important difference that may come as a surprise to fans. During The Police's aborted 1986 attempt to reform for a sixth studio album, the original plan was to record entirely new material. But, egos and tensions within the band being what they were, Sting was less than enthusiastic about the project and had written no new songs. What's more, Stewart Copeland arrived at the recording studio with a broken collar bone, the result of a polo accident. So the idea of a new album was abandoned and a decision was made to simply revisit a pair of tracks for a greatest hits release. The resulting tracks were disastrous by any measure (despite being a fascinating record of the final self-destruction of the band). The first of these (featuring Copeland on electronic drum machine) was the aforementioned Don't Stand So Close to Me '86. But the other track, which ultimately went unreleased, was De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da '86. Unreleased until now that is, because that's the version of the song that you'll find on this DTS release.----review by

The Breath is Stuart McCallum (former guitarist of (The Cinematic Orchestra), Irish singer Rioghnach Connolly and McCallum’s fellow Cinematic alumni, pianist John Ellis and drummer Luke Flowers. Born out of Manchester’s fertile music scene they mix Irish folk influences with mesmerising guitar riffs, anthemic themes and powerful hooks. Connolly’s soulful vocals are interwoven into the electronic fabric of McCallum’s distinctive soundworld. In turns hypnotic, lush, powerfully raw and raucously punchy, their songs entrance, uplift and break your heart as The Breath conjure a kaleidoscope of sound that perfectly frames Connolly’s raw songs and soul cleansing vocals.
