The Mass Effect series has always been known for its iconic music; reminiscent of the great space operas of the 80’s, while bringing something fresh and new to the genre. In the years since the trilogy, the influences of Mass Effect have been seen and heard in the gaming, television and movie industry. When we were imagining the music for Andromeda, it was key that we retain the spirit of what made Mass Effect unique, but also strive to bring it into the future. The score for Andromeda holds true to the heart of the Mass Effect experience, but also explores new ground. Just as the story and characters bravely face a new galaxy, filled with the unknown, the music of Andromeda takes us on a new journey for the Mass Effect series. Expanding the universe in new and exhilarating ways.
A few disarming moments on “Octahedron” unfold slowly, with pockets of space and calm. Don’t be lured into trusting them. This album, the fifth studio release by the Mars Volta, employs stillness as a setup for all manner of disruption: sharply pealing riffs, phantasmagorical metaphors, convoluted song structures. In many ways it’s a typical effort from the guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and the vocalist Cedric Bixler Zavala, who make up the Mars Volta’s cunning and ever-agitated core. But that’s not to discredit the more measured side of “Octahedron,” a harbor for some of this psychedelic prog-rock band’s most alluring melodies and among its most coherent recordings…
24K Magic (pronounced "twenty-four karat magic") is the third studio album by American singer Bruno Mars. It was released on November 18, 2016, by Atlantic Records. Recording sessions took place from 2015 to 2016, while the third record was produced its entirety by Shampoo Press & Curl, who are serving as the executive producers, with the additional production by The Stereotypes, Jeff Bhasker and Emile Haynie. Borrowing heavily from Marc Bolan's glam rock and the future shock of A Clockwork Orange, David Bowie reached back to the heavy rock of The Man Who Sold the World for The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars…
Unorthodox Jukebox is the second studio album by American singer and songwriter Bruno Mars. It was released on December 7, 2012, by Atlantic Records. It serves as the follow-up to Mars' debut record Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010). The album was initially planned to be more "energetic" than his previous work, but, it ended presenting a wide range of styles such as reggae rock, disco and soul music. The singer co-wrote the whole record and worked with several past collaborators, while enlisting new producers and no guest vocalists. Lyrically, Unorthodox Jukebox revolves around the theme of relationships, incorporating more explicit lyrics and subjects than his previous material. Critical response to Unorthodox Jukebox was generally favorable; many reviewers compared Mars' work to that of his previous album, while others deemed the lyrical content as shallow and lacking of depth.
