Nice N Easy German Grammar by Passport Books
McGraw-Hill; 1 edition | January 11, 1983 | ISBN-10: 0844294985 | 176 pages | PDF | 53.8 Mb

This is indeed a "nice" and pleasently short (169 pocket sized pages) introductory German grammar book. (However I don't think that anybody can claim to be able to make German grammar "easy", but they've given it a good try!). Extensive use is made, in simple langauge, of analogies between English and German constructions. This is a good and very often necessary "first line of attack" for newer students in particular. More advanced students may find it at times a little lacking in "meat", however. I think its well worth considering especially at the very reasonable price of 5 dead presidents.

A Concise German Grammar aims to equip undergraduates with a comprehensive yet compact account of German grammar. There has long been a need for an easy-to-use guide to the subject that answers users' questions without confronting them with a bewildering mass of secondary detail.

This much-awaited new edition of Hammer's German Grammar and Usage–the pre-eminent, most authoritative German grammar reference in the English language–has been extensively revised with new German spelling changes and new usage examples. Instead of getting bogged down in idealized rules, Professor Durrell focuses on how Germans really speak. Included are clear and concise explanations, many examples from everyday life, and comprehensive cross-referencing and indexing.
