The project is largely based in Ibiza, Spain, where Cretu has lived and recorded since the early '90s.

In the grand tradition of great pop duos like Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, Captain and Tenille, Simon and Garfunkel, Hall and Oates, and Shields and Yarnell; Got a Girl is the blossoming collaboration between Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Smashed; The Spectacular Now) and superproducer Dan 'The Automator' Nakamura (Gorillaz; Deltron 3030). A chance encounter during the filming of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World which starred Winstead and featured several songs by Nakamura led the pair to an unexpected meeting of minds and musical tastes. On a whim, Nakamura invited Winstead to join him in his studio.

A greatest-hits package sampling four Enigma discs released between 1990 and 2000, LSD splendidly documents the influential output of Michael Cretu, a techno-bohemian who successfully creates cinematic, otherworldly New Age-like musical suites. Now, more than a decade removed from the arrival of Sadeness (Part 1) and its eyebrow-raising mix of sacred and sensual subplots, people can debate whether Cretu's music represents savvy commercial calculation or satisfying art. LSD suggests a split decision, though tracks with intriguing blends of atmosphere and rhythm, such as "Gravity of Love," "T.N.T. for the Brain" and "Morphing Thru Time," reveal an inventiveness that demonstrates Cretu is capable of more than sophisticated novelty tunes. Two new songs, neither especially noteworthy, open this package. Meanwhile, remastered older tracks segue beautifully to exude a satisfying, seamless unity. Big bonus: run time exceeds 76 minutes.

This CD is dedicated with appreciation and love to the first teacher who encouraged my talent as a singer: my husband Don Cox (Big Don) - R.I.H. I love you and I miss you. Not only was Don a great husband and dad, he was a consummate professional entertainer who has been displaying his diverse musical skill since the tender age of 13 when he made his professional debut. Don’s first recording in 1963 resulted in the release of “Just Can’t Win” and “What Can You Do For Me” on Chess Records with his group, The Carpets. Big Don performed with such luminaries as Jay McShann, Claude “Fiddler” Williams, Jimmy Witherspoon, Stanley Turrentine, and Eartha Kitt, just to name a few. Don studied arranging and orchestration under Willie Rice and wrote vocal arrangements for The Sincerest who later became Motown recording artist Blood Stone. His arranging skills are evident on this new CD release, Don Cox & The Princess: Touching You With Class, Ain’t That Loving You.

LSD: Love, Sensuality and Devotion gathers over a decade's worth of Enigma's definitive tracks, including the song that started it all, "Sadeness, Pt. 1." "Return to Innocence," "Beyond the Invisible," and "Cross of Changes" are all featured as well, and though the collection ranges from the rock-tinged "I'll Love You…I'll Kill You" to atmospheric, electronic fare like "Shadows in Silence," since it's all essentially Michael Crétu's vision, it flows surprisingly well. Since Enigma's sound has varied fairly drastically over the years, LSD: Love, Sensuality and Devotion is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about Crétu's music, and the only Enigma album that casual fans might need.

Neon Trees new album Pop Psychology is an upbeat collection of sleek, modern alternative pop songs powered by singer-songwriter Tyler Glenn’s bright melodies, huge choruses, and witty lyrics about the challenges of finding love in the digital age. With disarming honesty, songs like ”Love In the 21st Century,” “Text Me In The Morning,” “I Love You, But I Hate Your Friends,” and first single “Sleeping With A Friend” cleverly capture the millennial concerns referenced in the titles and deliver them in impeccably shiny sonic packages, thanks to the band’s performances and production by Glenn’s long-time friend and songwriting collaborator Tim Pagnotta.
