Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
Thankfully, a large part of Popol Vuh's discography has come back into print the last few years- I bought this on iTunes, and I'm glad I did. By the 1980s, the spiritual side of Florian Fricke's vision had come to the forefront.

Peter Mergener is electronic music artist. Long time he worked with Michael Weisser, together with a total of 14 albums he released, initially under the name Mergener & Weisser, then under the name of Software. Peter Mergener is one of the artists you might like to refer to if you want to prove that the music business is unfair. His first formation Software was musically equally groundbreaking as German compatriots Tangerine Dream and their 80s output possibly better than that of direct inspiration Klaus Schulze. Still, even though they did manage to become an underground sensation, their music never made it to those big concert halls and only occasionally to the radio…

Govinda start their activities in 1994, when original members of Keshava (Satya Mana, Pandit Ananda and Yasodanandana), that had some of their new age tracks released on Klaus Schulze label “Innovative communication” decided to change. Everything started when the three Keshava members met DJ Om, who was quite well known in the Los Angeles area, Balearic Islands and Barcelona, so they decided to start a new project, Govinda, along with the support of Indian and Sri Lankan singers, plus the singer/dancer “Chandra”. The new project gets immediate interest, and Govinda release their first album “Selling India by the pound” and their first 12” single “Trascendental Ecstasy” which also includes a long and uptempo version of “Awaken”…

G.E.N.E. (Grooving Electronic Natural Environments) is a Canadian New Age instrumental band. The idea of this world-famous project was born in June 1987, during a conversation under the stars around a campfire and tents on the shore of the lake in the Canadian woods. That night, Cleo de Mallio took the first steps in a musical odyssey that is still not completed. The conversation was carried on the nature and technology, the world and machines, the new digital sound and lofty emotions. Father of the project and the producer is Michael Weisser - founding member of the German band Software, one of the disciples of the legendary Klaus Schulze, the founder of the company's IC/Digit music, on which he produced G.E.N.E. and Software…

Dancing Fantasy partners Curtis McLaw and Chris Williams had previously worked together in the Blue Knights; this particular project was a smooth-jazz variation on their fascination with German synth experimentalists like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream. Dancing Fantasy started their career at German electronic label IC Digit in 1990. "Worldwide" was inspired by the flow of music around the globe, picking up individual sound-samples (specific to a particular country) on the way. The music is pure Dancing Fantasy with laid back grooves, immersed in rich floating sounds with touches of jazz.

An exceptional debut album from two accomplished musicians (Peter De Backer & Johan Van den Abeele), mixing floating drifting sounds of magnificent beauty with highly creative arrangements and sounds. You relax while discovering a world of music. You'll enjoy closing your eyes and let your mind drift to the nightsky, full of fantasies, strange worlds, warm lights, towering clouds and the eternal glitter of the stars.

The music on this album is 2nd wave of EM at it's best with elements of Mario Schönwälder (he was later) and Peter Mergener (who performed the music composed by TeeKay).

Jay B. Jay started his classical piano training when he was eight years old. By the time he turned 28 he had studied at various academies jazz, harmony, classical composition and in the USA majoring at the Boston Berkley College of Music in jazz composition and arranging. While living close to the beach in Boston he developed two dreams: to own a peaceful home on the seaside and to make music for living. With a friend he built and managed probably the most advanced and best equipped recording studio in Israel, only to find out that the music and recording business kept him from what he wanted to do most: compose and play music himself…

Win Kowa is a German guitarist and songwriter who played in the bands Streetmark, Octopus and The Radio. He began writing music at the age of nine and has been performing and recording professionally since the 1970s. Since the early 1990s he has released a number of albums either solo or with his wife, Jennifer Kowa as Kowa. Will not disappoint fans of either genre, New Age or Space Rock.
