Although they never had much success in America, the Euro-disco group Boney M. were a European phenomenon during the '70s. After German record producer Frank Farian (born in 1942) recorded the single "Baby Do You Wanna Bump?" (which was successful in Holland and Belgium), he created Boney M. to support the song, bringing in four West Indian vocalists who had been working as session singers in Germany – Marcia Barrett (b. October 14, 1948, St. Catherines, Jamaica), Liz Mitchell (b. July 12, 1952, Clarendon, Jamaica), Maizie Williams (b. March 25, 1951, Monserrat, West Indies), and Bobby Farrell (b. October 6, 1949, Aruba, West Indies, d. December 30, 2010, St. Petersburg, Russia)…

Eye Dance is the eighth and final studio album by the vocal group Boney M., released in 1985. The cover artwork was significant of the state the group was in at that time, as neither the famous "Boney M." logo nor the group members appeared on the cover, replaced by an anonymous drawing.

After three years of inactivity, Boney M. returned to the international charts in 1984 with 10,000 Lightyears. Like Boonoonoonoos, this album was a big production: it boasted a generous array of songs in varying styles and included the Munich Symphony Orchestra thickening the sound on a number of its tracks. Sadly, 10,000 Lightyears is a mixed effort in terms of songwriting.

Kalimba de Luna – 16 Happy Songs is a compilation album by Boney M. released in late 1984. On the strength of two carbon-copy cover versions, "Kalimba de Luna" (Germany #17, 22 weeks - originally by Tony Esposito) and "Happy Song" (Germany #7, 16 weeks - original version by Baby's Gang) which gave Boney M. their first Top 20 hits in Germany in three years, this compilation was rush-released in November 1984.

Boney James is the master arranger. His tracks are great before he plays but go to another level when you add his sax playing into the mix. And I love the artists collaborations as well. Chante' Moore, Angie Stone and Anthony Hamilton help boost this to the five-star level in my opinion. And I honestly can't determine which track l like the best. A must have for all Smooth Jazz fans.

This music compilation is one of the best that Boney M have ever bought out. It contains all those wonderful classics from the 1970s that had my generation dancing from dusk 'till dawn. Who can forget the catchy beat from "Ma Baker" and the toe tapping "Sunny"? If you want good music for a party or for a theme night then you won't go wrong by adding this to your CD collection.

Sunny and improvisational, Boney James's SHINE–his 10th studio outing–finds the lite urban jazz sax maven in top form. By emphasizing the R&B side of his recipe and inviting friends like Faith Evans and the easy-listening jazz legend George Benson, James scores his most accessible album yet and crosses over to the R&B and Pop Charts in the process. The album includes a cover of Chuck Mangione's "Soft."

Many musicians call the Roland TR-808 drumcomputer affectionately the bass queen and this pseudonym is without any doubt a warrantable expression. After its release in 1980 it first became a slow seller and people preferred the more natural and powerful sounding Linn-L1 instead of the rather artificial chinking Roland machine.
