Hard Rock

This album enfolds the ultimate Sabu rock power, that mixes great hooks with conviction that defies gravity with melodies that stand the test of time. Stadium rockers like "Headbangers" and the mysterious "Jack of all Trades" co-written by Vinny Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath) show the versatility of the album. As the producer, Voss embraced the vision to go back to his roots of recording the drums in a huge room and slamming the sound spectrum to the 'big is better' level…Much like that in the Led Zeppelin era. The live feel of the album is refreshing and illuminates early Van Halen while pushing the envelope on every song…

Pediatrician by day, and musician by night, Paul Rossy recently sought out the expertise of singer-songwriter Ian Kelly to help him create an original album. Last April, Dr. Rossy found a way to combine his two greatest passions by launching his very first album of original songs at a concert benefiting the Montreal Children’s Hospital, where he practises medicine. The event was held April 29th, in a packed Corona Theatre, and allowed the singer-songwriter to raise funds thanks to all those present, and to the kind generosity of the Alan & Roula Rossy Family Foundation. On the album, recorded at the Pierre Marchand Studio, you can hear: Joel Kerr on upright bass, Mark Nelson on drums, Jonathan Cayer on piano/keyboard, François Jalbert on guitar, Annie Dominique on saxophone, Alexis French on trumpet and flugelhorn, Jean-Nicolas Trottier on trombone, and Lévy Bourbonnais on harmonica.

Thomas Napper's Jawbone is a British independent film about a former youth boxing champ who returns home in an effort to rebuild himself after hitting a personal low. It's a quasi-autobiographical effort from its lead actor Johnny Harris – who also wrote the film and co-produced it – and he's the guy who brought Paul Weller into the project. Weller has done a lot in his career, but he's never composed a soundtrack, so Jawbone is noteworthy for that reason alone, but it's also interesting because it doesn't follow conventional paths for soundtracks.

Two classic easy-listening albums by Paul Mauriat and His Orchestra, originally released in 1966 on the Philips label, together on one CD and remastered from the original analogue stereo tapes for Vocalion's trademark crystal-clear sound. French composer/conductor Paul Mauriat is a classically trained musician who decided to pursue a career in popular music. His first major success came in 1962, as a co-writer of the European hit "Chariot." In 1963, the song was given English lyrics, renamed "I Will Follow Him," and became a number one American hit for Little Peggy March. Mauriat is best remembered for his 1968 worldwide smash "Love Is Blue"…
