10cc's Greatest Hits 1972-1978 was the first compilation by 10cc to include their recordings with UK Records and with Mercury. It was released in time for Christmas 1979 and was intended as a stop-gap between albums, whilst Eric Stewart recovered from his car accident. The Oak Ridge Boys began their career in 1945 as a gospel quartet known as Oak Ridge Quartet. The majority of their success came after they changed their name and began making country music in 1977.
