Their 13 album shows Space Debris with their so far best sound, not least due to the new entry of bass player Janni Schmitt (known by the last Miller Anderson tour). The band has developed its style and added new sounds, keyboard chorals remembering of Deep Purples 'April'. Space, hardrock and jazz elements lead to the typical Space Debris feeling. Each song tells a different story and seems to have it's own colour. The cover describes the musical journey for the listener: in the room behind the door. Song after song, the listener can open the doors and drift into space together with the band.

Space Debris hail from the Odenwald region in Germany. The members' main concern is to play improvised music reminiscent to 70s krautrock and psychedelic bands. The group started as a trio comprised of Tommy Gorny (guitar), Tom Kunkel (Hammond organ) and Christian Jäger (drums). Supported by many friends having guest appearances they already could produce six albums starting with the year 2002. If you're keen on ambitious jamming music you should check out Space Debris by all means…

The Hammond is the main reason for a wide range of styles given within their explorations, also including bluesy and jazzy themes as well as heavy prog…

The title of the album also defines the musical route. Modern arrangements and traditional instruments are being united. The globalization of music styles has been taking place, frontiers are torn down and multiple musical facets from Asian and Far Eastern areas are melted together. From this mix, arises the exotic modern attraction, colorful, brilliant, similar to the modern fashion…

Ray Mantilla's Space Station is his regular group and works mostly in Europe. Although tied to the bebop tradition, Mantilla's soloists are actually much more modern, closer to post-bop than to hard bop. Because the septet works together often, they have developed their own fresh material which consists mostly of originals by Mantilla and pianist Eddy Martinez. The only standard on the date is a ballad version of "The Man I Love."

TYA's first album for Columbia, A Space in Time has more of a pop-oriented feel than any of their previous releases had…

Though prototype electric guitar first appeared in the early 1930s, the instrument only became a staple of popular music in the 1950s and 1960s. As a musical revolution was evolving, so was a different type altogether -space exploration. Sixty years on, in an age when the challenge is just to keep abreast of technological innovations it takes an effort to imagine the seismic shift that the electric guitar and space travel and television that brought such adventures into millions of homes signified for youngsters like Bill Frisell.
