The music of Syzygy is an overwhelming experience. It is still possible to make fresh and powerful music which has its roots in the seventies. Combining elements of old school progressive rock (Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant and ELP,) with modern production values, The Allegory of Light is a complex yet melodic collection of songs that will truly make a prog fan happy. The three musician’s are skillful enough to play the complex and up-tempo material of the band. At one point the guitar of Carl Baldassarre sounds like Fripp and the next time you think you are listening to Steve Howe. The same story goes for Sam Giunta. One minute he sounds like Keith Emerson, the next minute you think of Kerry Minnear (Gentle Giant) or Ryo Okumoto (Spock’s Beard)…

‘Love means bringing people together, despite the differences or distance between them.’ With these words, Ghalia Benali announced the international concert project The Allegory of Desire on various social media. It is precisely in that spirit that this programme, a collaboration with Vocalconsort Berlin and Zefiro Torna, combines five centuries of settings of the Song of Songs by European composers with traditional and contemporary Arabic songs about desire, love and nostalgia. Its emotional horizon ranges from the sensuously erotic to the mystical and spiritual.

The ConstruKction Of Light is the twelfth studio album by English band King Crimson, released in May 2000 by record label Virgin. It has the distinction of being the first studio album to be released by King Crimson without two longtime members (the first without drummer Bill Bruford who debuted with the band for 1973's Larks' Tongues in Aspic and without bassist Tony Levin who joined in 1981). The departure of these stalwarts brought an end to the "double trio" era of the band and their return to a quartet: Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto. Fripp was now not only the last remaining member from any lineup prior to 1981 but the only Englishman left as well.

The Story of Light is the eighth studio album by American guitarist and songwriter, Steve Vai, which was released on August 14, 2012 on Favored Nations. This is Vai's first full length studio album since 2005's "Real Illusions: Reflections". On May 23, 2012, the album was made available for pre-order through Vai's official website with an instant download of "Gravity Storm". The track "John the Revelator" contains a sample of Blind Willie Johnson's "John the Revelator". "The Moon and I" was initially released as a VaiTunes digital only single in 2010. However, due to the personal nature of the song, Steve decided to remix the song and include it on the album. The album debuted on Billboard 200 at No. 78.

Woods have always been experts at distilling life epiphanies into compact chunks of psychedelic folk that exists just outside of any sort of tangible time or place. Maybe those epiphanies were buried under cassette manipulation or drum-and-drone freakouts, or maybe they were cloaked in Jeremy Earl s lilting falsetto, but over the course of an impressive eight albums, Woods refined and drilled down their sound into City Sun Eater in the River of Light, their ninth LP and second recorded in a proper studio. It s a dense record of rippling guitar, lush horns, and seductive, bustling anxiety about the state of the world.
