UK Tour '75 is a live album by Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, recorded at the Derby College of Art and Technology in Derby, England on 21 November 1975 as part of the tour promoting the Fighting album. Released in 2008, UK Tour '75 was authorised by the surviving band members and the content was digitally remastered under their supervision. Some of the songs had not yet been released on Thin Lizzy studio albums, such as "Cowboy Song", dubbed "Derby Blues" on the night by lead singer Phil Lynott…

Thin Lizzy was originally conceived as a power trio in the image of Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, but Eric Bell lacked the charisma of those groups' guitarists, forcing vocalist/bassist Philip Lynott to take center stage from day one. Despite his already poetic, intensely personal lyrics, Lynott was only beginning to develop as a songwriter, and the band's unfocused, folk-infused early efforts are a far cry from their mid-'70s hard rock glory. Recorded on a shoestring budget, their self-titled debut is surprisingly mellow; many songs, such as "Clifton Grange Hotel" and "The Friendly Ranger of Clontarf Castle," sound confused and unfinished…

Renegade is the eleventh studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1981. Though not his first appearance, this was the first album in which keyboard player Darren Wharton was credited as a permanent member, becoming the fifth member of the line-up. Renegade was the second and final album to feature guitarist Snowy White. By his own admission, White was more suited to playing blues than heavy rock and he quit by mutual agreement the following year. Greg Prato of AllMusic claimed that Renegade is Thin Lizzy's worst album, with "blatant pop leanings and a production too similar to British heavy metal bands of the early '80s"…

Sometimes while trudging through the bargain bins you find a cd worth buying. This is one of them. Yellow Pearl is an inexpensive way of owning the 'best' of Phil's solo material. I was never a big fan of his solo stuff, but this contains anything worth listening to again and again. No real rarities, but it does have Gary Moore's version of Parisienne Walkways with Phil on vocals. Which was the best thing on Gary's Back On The Street solo release. Most the stuff on here is Lynott trying to sound like a contemporary artist from that time (early 80's). Ugghh. Synths, bad percussion, electronic drums? Phil is "The Rocker". Period. End of the story. His life was over way too soon, and is missed. Stick to the Thin Lizzy material, and spread their music to the unitiated. We'll all be better for it.

Black Rose: A Rock Legend is the ninth studio album by Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. Released in 1979, it has been described as one of the band's "greatest, most successful albums". The album debuted and peaked at No. 2 in the UK album charts and is the band's most successful studio album. It was the first time that blues rock guitarist Gary Moore remained in Thin Lizzy long enough to record an album after previous stints in 1974 and 1977 with the band.

It's hard not to interpret the "fighting my way back" chorus of the title track on Thin Lizzy's fifth album as the band's way of bouncing back from the uncommonly subdued Night Life. If that record was smooth and relaxed, Fighting is a tense, coiled, vicious rock & roll album, as hard as Vagabonds's toughest moments but more accomplished, the sound of a band truly coming into its own…

Jailbreak is the sixth studio album by Irish hard rock band Thin Lizzy, released in 1976. It proved to be the band's commercial breakthrough in the US, and the only Thin Lizzy album with a certification (in this case, Gold) in that country. The singles include "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back in Town", the latter being Thin Lizzy's biggest hit.

Chinatown is the tenth studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1980. It introduced guitarist Snowy White who would also perform on the next album as well as tour with Thin Lizzy between 1980 and 1982; he replaced Gary Moore as permanent guitarist. White had previously worked with Cliff Richard, Peter Green and Pink Floyd. Chinatown also featured seventeen-year-old Darren Wharton on keyboards, and he joined Thin Lizzy as a permanent member later that year.
