The best hits of a rock'n'roll from the greatest legends of the 50th. A rock'n'roll, the main world music of the 50th years, having appeared on dance floors and in airs, instantly I blew up rather quiet bog reigning then a rhythm and blues, a country and other. At concerts the public at last started rising with chairs and to arrange violent dances, girls for the first time started squealing and making a declaration of love to idols, and musicians - to move on a scene. And not so, as if they have all body in plaster, and is opened, is free and, according to hypocrites, in general even it is indecent.

This may be the best series of rockabilly compilations I've run across, and I've blown a lot of money on some mediocre crap. You get a ton of solid senders from fairly obscure names that run the gamut from hillbilly to rockin' boppers.

Rock 'N' Roll Love Songs is a decent three-disc set highlighting 60 pop singles released in the '50s and '60s. Along with tried-and-true radio classics by Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, and the Platters are less-than-obvious inclusions by Miller Sisters ("Got You on My Mind"), Four Aces ("Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing"), and Charlie Feathers ("I Forgot to Remember to Forget"). These are the original recordings and, with the exception of the campy soda shop packaging, is recommended.

Rock n Roll Animal is a live album by Lou Reed, released in 1974. In its original form, it features five songs from different periods of his creative career, including several songs by the Velvet Underground. The songs are all re-arranged into a powerful hard rock set. The musicians were Pentti Glan (drums) and Prakash John (bass), Ray Colcord (keyboards), and Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter on guitars (the two guitarists would later form the second Alice Cooper band). The album was recorded live on December 21, 1973, at Howard Stein's Academy of Music in New York. (Wiki)

"It's Only Rock 'n Roll is the 12th British and 14th American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1974. It would be the last Rolling Stones album for guitarist Mick Taylor and the songwriting and recording of the album's title track would have a connection to Taylor's eventual replacement, Ronnie Wood. The album has a more firm rock sound than the band's previous album, the more funk and soul-inspired Goats Head Soup. The album reached #1 in the United States and #2 in the United Kingdom."
