Volume 1 in the French comic book (or ) science fiction series Valérian and Laureline created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. It was originally published in the French comics periodical Pilote as covering issues #455 through #468 from July 25 to October 24, 1968. The French publisher Dargaud collected the issue and published it in 1970 in graphic novel form. Dargaud made it a point to state frequent reference to the “prediction” this album made about a nuclear accident in 1986 and the coincidence that the Chernobyl incident that happened the same year. This is the English translation published by Cinebook.
