Nnenna Freelon's fifth CD should establish her as one of the top jazz singers of the 1990s. Rather than stick to typical jazz standards, she explore women's songs (or at least lyrics) from many fields of music. Her compelling interpretation of the title track, with its infrequently heard lyric by Mrs. Herbie Hancock, is followed by a hypnotic original lyric written by Freelon for Marian McPartland's "Threnody," titled "Sepia Wing" in its vocal incarnation.

For his international debut album on the Yellow Label, the brilliant young violinist Nemanja Radulović proposes a journey throughout the musical traditions of Eastern Europe. The selection contains all-time favorites, both classical and popular, from Eastern Europe, ranging from core classical pieces to traditional folk melodies to film music – among them Brahms’ Hungarian Dance, Dvořák’s Songs my mother taught me and William’s music from the film Schindler’s list.

Schiller is the main project of Christopher von Deylen, a German electronic music composer who produces music which can be considered trance and ambient. Since he himself does not sing on his tracks, he often collaborates with other famous singers in the electronic genre, such as Peter Heppner, Kim Sanders, Maya Saban, miLù, Sarah Brightman, Moya Brennan, or Alexander Veljanov, and musicians like Mike Oldfield. The name of the band is taken from one of von Deylen's heroes, Friedrich Schiller.

Voyage 34, originally a two-volume EP series from 1992-1993, was expanded into "The Complete Trip" after Steven Wilson remixed and added production for its eventual re-release seven years later. Documenting the ill effects of an acid trip by a frequent user (the first 33 were fine), the four-phase work begins with a straight-laced narrator explaining the events leading up to the trip, with straight-ahead (though slightly exploratory) guitar work by Wilson over a mid-tempo drum section…

This lesser-known set, released by several Japanese labels including a 1991 CD issue by Denon, features flugelhornist Art Farmer with pianist Masahiko Satoh (doubling on electric piano), bassist Ron Carter, drummer Jack DeJohnette and a 14-piece string section arranged and conducted by Satoh. Despite its initial release in Japan, the music was actually recorded in New York City. Farmer is in excellent form on the seven modern jazz originals, most of which are given fresh treatments. The arrangements are fine, and Farmer is up to the task of carrying the main load on such songs as "Nica's Dream," "Blue In Green," "Maiden Voyage" and "Naima." Worth searching for.

"Voyage Of The Acolyte" is the debut solo album from then-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. It featured heavy contributions from Genesis bandmates Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford. After this album, Hackett began to feel stifled within the democratic approach to the way Genesis placed music on their albums. It marks the extraordinary beginning of an ongoing career, and many fans consider it his finest album ever.

Reissue with the latest remastering. Features original cover artwork. Comes with a descripton in Japanese. McCoy Tyner’s Bon Voyage features his 1987 trio with Avery Sharpe and Louis Hayes in exciting form. Ever since he joined the John Coltrane Quartet in late-1960, McCoy Tyner has had his own distinctive voice on the piano. A master of modal jazz, Tyner developed his own chord voicings and percussive style. He was one of the major influences on other pianists by the time he left Coltrane in early 1966 and has led his own bands, usually trios, ever since. While his approach has not changed much since then, he has continued to grow within his own style and has made scores of high quality recordings while remaining a highly influential force.

Capella de Ministrers is an early and medieval music ensemble formed in 1987 in Valencia, Spain by its director, the Valencian musicologist Carles Magraner. Capella de Ministrers is recovering the musical heritage from an astounding and up-to-date perspective:early music combined with the latest technology. This first album of the trilogy dedicated to Ramon Llull , "Conversion, study and contemplation," illustrates the youth of Ramon Llull, devoted to sensual pleasures to profane love and the cultivation of the troubadour lyric, seen through the prism of the convert who has left the vanities of the world.
