In a year notable by the too-high incidence of jazz losses, Charles Earland quietly left this planet on Saturday, December 11, 1999. Known as the Mighty Burner for the intense way he commanded the Hammond B-3, the always working, too-heavy 58-year-old Earland made his departure via heart failure following one last performance in Kansas City.
Lullaby for the Moon presents Japanese contemporary works for koto and shakuhachi based on traditional folksongs (1. Komoroiuta, 6. Sakura, and 7. Kojo), as well as some original ones, including a piece for 2 shakuhachis. The CD ends with one of the most known pieces of the Japanese classical repertoire: "Chidori" (known also as "Chidori no Kyoku"), written around 1750. A large group of excellent musicians were selected for this CD, including one of today's most known and best shakuhachi musicians: Hozan Yamamoto. This excellent CD presents a music of high meditative quality.
Fair Warning is a Melodic Hard Rock Band from Germany. This album is great! The band proved that they can play their songs very well during a show. The sound quality is almost perfect on the first cd (the live one), all the songs are good, especially 'Follow My Heart', 'Save Me' and 'Get A Little Closer'. The second cd is not live, but the songs are also good. Highlights for 'Like A Rock' and 'Give In To Love'.
