This September 23 Dutch singer-songwriter Anneke van Giersbergen will release her fifth studio album, Drive via PIAS Recordings Holland and InsideOut Music. On this follow-up to 2012’s Everything is Changing, Anneke collaborated with Dutch songwriter and producer Arno Krabman, enlisting the help of her live band to lay down the new tracks. In a time when bands are creating entire albums by transferring files online, Anneke explains that she was keen to do things the old-fashioned way: “I really wanted to record an album together with a group of musicians in a studio.” Having toured extensively with the same tight-knit group of musicians, the result is an organic sound that perfectly captures our chemistry as a band.Having proven her credentials and immense vocal talent for 13 years as front woman of The Gathering, in 2007 Anneke felt it was time to begin her own solo career. Along with her new band Agua de Annique the charismatic singer quickly established herself as a solo artist, releasing several albums to critical and popular acclaim.
ANGELUS APATRIDA’s new album, “The Call” has been once again recorded in Moita, Portugal at Ultrasound Studio with producer Daniel Cardoso (Anneke Van Giersbergen, Anathema, etc.) . The same creative team of “Clockwork” has helped shape “The Call” to an extremely impressive and massive next step forwards in the band’s promising career: The 10 ultra-catchy and dynamic new songs on “The Call” clearly show a matured and more determined entity, sticking to their stylistic guns, but showcasing all the elements of their trademark-sound in a bolder and more irresistible manner. ANGELUS APATRIDA have a huge sense for melody, stirring hooklines, awe-inspiring instrumental skills and most of all, an unmatched understanding for effective and viciously aggressive songwriting.
Falling Deeper is an upcoming compilation album from atmospheric rock band Anathema to be released on September 5 2011. The songs announced include "Crestfallen", "Kingdom", "Sunset of Age", that will receive new arrangements to fit "a mesmerising blend of the orchestral - majestic and at times ethereal - with beautiful vocal arrangements and our unique 'feedback' lead guitars, all centred around a grand piano and a huge rhythm section. All the layers work together to convey the haunting internal landscapes Anathema have become renowned for. Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen sings on Everwake", a song originally released on the 1992 EP The Crestfallen.
