What is the smell ? What do I hear ? I found myself standing on a shore and the first thing I realized was this beautiful seaside atmosphere - calming sounds of the waves crashing softly against my feet and the salty touch to the air I was breathing in and out. I turned around and spotted a lonely beach hotel far behind me.

Have you always wanted to hear the sounds of microbial world? Did that microspace fascinate you like me ? If your answers are yes, let me introduce my Microbiology - Petri Audio Dish for Kontakt library to you. I love new, bizzare sounds and often dream - what some non audible phenomenas sound (or would) sound like.

This instrument is based on ordinary and (as usual with Atom Hub items) old harmonica tuned in D. The instrument has been sampled with intention of providing organic, non-perfect, breathy, shaky, metallic sounds rather than a virtual incarnation of a nice romantic harmonica tone.

I found this old, unused mandolin, hanging on a wall in a dark corner of my cellar. I bought it about 10 years ago in a local music store. I played it for some time, but then turned to another instruments and good old mandolin got down there. When I saw it after such a long time I knew immediately, that its time has come again.

I found this thing on a shelf obviously :-). We used it occasionally as Santa Claus's bell for my little Sam, but how it got at my place… I don't know. My girfriend said, this had something to do with my grandmother… probably she has brought it here. When I ask her, I will update this info :-). It is maybe 0,5 Kg weighting copper (brass) bell with few holes in it and also some short wire on top - to hold it that way, or to hang it somewhere. As I said, I had this thing on a shelf for a long time, but just recently I realized, that it has sound that could be used somehow. I sampled it, knocking on it, ringing and tolling with it holding it hanging on its short oxidized wire.

I have been pleasantly surprised by warm welcome of my Lost Horizon pack so I decided to continue with ambient, guitar-based sample packs. This time I have used my semihollow body electric guitar accompanied with a guitar synth, looper and a hardware fx unit to create samples going a little bit farther. The Planet brings wider sound palette, more types of sounds and is more focussed on experimental side of thing, than to preserve "the guitar sound" in the first place. Hope you will like this one, enjoy exploring The Planet…

I love winter. Especially the one with snow :-). And I always loved how it sounded. So during one of my regular winter visits of my faithfull cottage companion Steve the cat, I took my mic to record some sonic information about this season. While Steve was chewing his lunch inside, I was playing outside with snow and ice. Then I went to record nice and calming forest creek flowing around. Natural sounds are the most beautiful and maybe they will fit well into some of my (your) icy compositions.

Microworld seen under a microscope is surely one of them. Knowing, that hearing bacterias, or enzymes is not so easy (if possible) I decided to use my imagination to create those sounds. I have always been huge fan of audio textures and ambient soundscapes, so microbiology seemed to me like very proper territory to excite my fantasy. I closed my eyes and had heard that curious world from under a microscope, the world whose gigantic constructions were… we ourselves. When I opened my eyes, sounds dissapeared… until I gathered four of my hardware samplers and synths (each one with its own FX section) and started to look for the sounds I had heard. I really enjoyed this work during March and April and also the work on design with basic effects including chorus, phaser, flanger, delay and others adjustable in GUI…

One day I took my acoustic guitar with me for a regular visit to my cottage. Also a microphone and a bottle of beer. After I picked some apples, I have made a fire and heated up, had a beer and recorded some guitar sounds together with sounds from a burning fireplace. My intention was not to record "great" guitar sound. I was hoping to make some strange, kind of unusual ethno stringed instrument. Therefore, when playing, I used nervous vibrato and unproper bending, together with some detuning… and the result was drunken sounding, fiery stringed experimental instrument - Drunkeytar. Sounds of a burning wood gave it calming, meditative atmosphere.
