Soldiers with a mysterious sleeping sickness are transferred to a temporary clinic in a former school. The memory-filled space becomes a revelatory world for housewife and volunteer Jenjira, as she watches over Itt, a handsome soldier with no family visitors. Jen befriends young medium Keng who uses her psychic powers to help loved ones communicate with the comatose men. Doctors explore ways, including colored light therapy, to ease the mens' troubled dreams. Jen discovers Itt's cryptic notebook of strange writings and blueprint sketches. There may be a connection between the soldiers' enigmatic syndrome and the mythic ancient site that lies beneath the clinic. Magic, healing, romance and dreams are all part of Jen's tender path to a deeper awareness of herself and the world around her.

A Cemetery of Palace Attendants by Ann Macy Roth
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; 1ST edition | 1995 | English | ISBN: 0878463852 | 430 pages | PDF | 38 MB

In the latter part of the Fifth Dynasty the necropolis that surrounded the Fourth Dynasty pyramids of Giza again became a popular site for the tombs of Memphite officials. A particular cluster of these mastaba tombs was excavated between 1936 and 1939 by George Andrew Reisner. Some of the tomb chapels were found to be decorated; others had anterooms with courtyards and porticoes. All of the inscribed tombs bore a title which Roth translates as "palace attendant". This publication presents the artifactual, iconographic and architectural results of the excavation in two parts. The first covers the architecture of the cluster as a whole; the second compares details of the individual tombs, and an extensive index lists mastabas, personal names, and Egyptian words, phrases, titles and epithets. This is a vast study, which leaves no Gizan stone unturned.

Spellbound represented an amazing evolution for the Tygers of Pan Tang, especially considering that it was released a mere six months after their very rough and unpolished debut. Simply put, the addition of versatile new vocalist Jon Deverill and brilliant guitarist John Sykes (yes – that John Sykes) helped improve the Tygers' musicianship and songwriting abilities to no end, allowing producer Chris Tsangarides to exact an infinitely superior (if not as innocently charming) performance of the band from a technical perspective. With a muscular brand of metal lying somewhere between Def Leppard and Saxon, the revitalized group had all of their bases covered and only MCA (frequently referred to as the "Musical Cemetery of America" in those days) could possibly squander the potential of memorable numbers like "Gangland," "Take It," and the especially hook-laden "The Story So Far." Other highlights include "Mirror," one of the band's best power ballads, and "Don't Stop By," where Sykes takes the first great solo of his career, showcasing both the stunning technical mastery and fluid musicality which would become his trademarks.

Community and Identity in Ancient Egypt: The Old Kingdom Cemetery at Qubbet el-Hawa by Dr Deborah Vischak
English | 2014 | ISBN: 1107027608 | 362 pages | PDF | 12,4 MB

It develops an interdisciplinary approach to the material - drawing on methods from art history, archaeology, anthropology, and sociology, including agency theory, the role of style, the reflexive relationship between people and landscape, and the nature of locality and community identity.

This movie is based on a novel of Tiziano Sclavi, and it always reflects the "sclavian philosophy" diffused by the most succesful comics in Italy: Dylan Dog, the detective of the nightmare. There is the duality between love and dead (in Italian "dellamore" means "of love" and "dellamorte" means "of death"), a duality that Dellamorte feels in a really hard way. He is the guardian of the cemetery of Buffalora, a little town in the north of Italy, in which, we don't know why, corpses rise from tombs and Dellamorte has to destroy them. Dellamorte seems not to ask to himself why this happen, he shoots and loves. But at the end he wants to leave Buffalora…
