After a diverse musical apprenticeship which had included a period of time playing keyboards for Death Metal pioneers Venom under the pseudonym VSX, Hannah Young's musical vision was to blend the harder more percussive elements of Acid Techno with the (then) uplifting melodic sounds of Goa Trance. November 1997 saw the UK release of his new project, CHI-A.D. with friend, label-partner and fellow musician Andy C. The album "Virtual Spirit" was released on Ganesha/Nova Tekk Gmbh, and received strong world-wide reaction by trancers, DJ's and the Dance Music press. In particular, the track 'Astral Warrior' became a firm favourite in many trance DJ sets with it's melodic soaring eastern riffs and complex rhythmic structure…
Behind the talents of Eugene Record, the Chi-Lites presented an impeccable album featuring one gem after another. Not losing any steam from their previous album, the Chi-Lites plugged another number one song, the universally appealing "Oh Girl," which also claimed the number one spot on the pop charts. "Coldest Days of My Life" came with a placid arrangement and peaked at number eight, and "Lonely Man" was a humble extension of "Have You Seen Her." From the testimonial "Living in the Footsteps of Another Man" to the mid-tempo "Being in Love" to the ballad "Love Is," the Chi-Lites were flawless with this effort. Record is masterful with his articulation of the lyric; he stays in control of his vocals. His penmanship is phenomenal and his production skills are irreproachable. The only socially charged number is a remake of the Marvin Gaye classic "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)," and it's done with skillful execution.
More than just tai chi, you'll also learn first-thing-in-the-morning stretches, self-massage and acupressure. Mark Johnson begins with 23 minutes of detailed information on techniques to lessen high blood pressure, improve arthritis, strengthen your immune system and reduce insomnia. Then, it's a 4-minute, very rejuvenating "follow along" Tai Chi workout. That's followed by 30 minutes of careful instruction on the moves used in that workout – ten gentle tai chi moves (each with a focus on healing and regeneration, not martial arts). Mark's approach is low-key and non-intimidating.
