Is it a nightmare or an actual view of a post-apocalyptic world? Set in an industrial town in which giant machines are constantly working, spewing smoke, and making noise that is inescapable, Henry Spencer lives in a building that, like all the others, appears to be abandoned. The lights flicker on and off, he has bowls of water in his dresser drawers, and for his only diversion he watches and listens to the Lady in the Radiator sing about finding happiness in heaven. Henry has a girlfriend, Mary X, who has frequent spastic fits. Mary gives birth to Henry's child, a frightening looking mutant, which leads to the injection of all sorts of sexual imagery into the depressive and chaotic mix.

retro black&white horror film

Nervous Henry, who lives in an industrial town, consisting of smoke, noise and shadows, forced to marry his girlfriend after she declares that she is pregnant, and eventually becomes the father of a little, not like a human baby mutant. Now, before the family there is a problem with the nursing of this monster …

The first feature film by David Lynch, shot in black and white, can shock their repulsive disgusting, to break away from that, however, is impossible. Bleeding under the knife and fork, stir fried chicken legs plaintively. Fans will appreciate this extravagant absurdity insanity on the dignity and will be reviewed many times. Mixing techniques and the science fiction horror film, Lynch creates a nightmarish black comedy about sex, fatherhood and responsibility in relationships.

Five years after the critical and commercial disappointment of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, director David Lynch returned to the big screen with this cryptic thriller about confused identities and erotic obsession. Fred (Bill Pullman) is an avant-garde jazz saxophonist who shares a luxurious but fashionably barren house with his wife Renee (Patricia Arquette). Fred suspects that Renee may be unfaithful to him, but realizes he has bigger things to worry about when a series of videotapes appear at his door that prove someone is watching his home from the outside and inside. When Renee is found murdered, Fred finds himself behind bars, but one morning Fred is no longer in his cell. He has seemingly been transformed into Pete Drayton (Balthazar Getty), a young auto mechanic who foolishly allowed himself to get involved with the wife of gangster Dick Laurent (Robert Loggia), a luscious blonde named Alice who looks exactly like Renee.

An epic five-part masterwork, The Cremaster Cycle is a celebrated evocation of the creative process by noted sculptor and performance artist Matthew Barney. The series is not now, nor will it ever be, available on mass-market DVD. The only place it can be seen is on screen in theaters. It was last shown in Columbus in 2003, when it screened it in five sold-out shows at the Wexner Center.
