Mercoled 27 aprile, il concerto di Francesco Bearzatti con una "Special Edition" del Tinissima Quartet che oltre allo stesso Bearzatti al sax tenore e clarinetto, vedr sul palco: Giovanni Falzone, tromba, Danilo Gallo, contrabbasso, Zeno De Rossi, batteria e ospiti speciali, Mauro Ottolini, trombone e Enrico Terragnoli, chitarra. Tinissima non un classico quartetto jazz (almeno per me) ma una vera band, una "combact band" consacrata alle biografie musicali di personaggi che si sono battuti per gli ultimi, per gli emarginati, per i "non aventi diritto".
Stefano Bollani (born 5 December 1972, Milan) is an Italian jazz pianist from Campi Bisenzio. He performs classical music, smooth jazz, avant-garde jazz, Brazilian jazz, and pop rock. In 1998, Musica Jazz magazine voted him Best Jazz Talent of the Year and later he would be awarded for jazz by a New Swing group in Japan. While he is mostly known for his collaborations with Enrico Rava, he has made several albums as a leader, and has been favourably acknowledged by several long established jazz musicians, such as Martial Solal.
Combine the innovative guitar energy of legendary fusion master Mike Stern with old friends (bassist Richard Bona, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta) and new (saxman Kenny Garrett), and anything is bound to happen. But fans expecting raucous swinging and jamming the whole time may be surprised at the subtle lyricism and exotic explorations that define these times for their hero.

A little-known recording that holds up well as a studio sequel of Joe Henderson's classic State of the Tenor live recordings. Here Joe runs through some of his own standards (Blue Bossa, Inner Urge) and well as jazz standards (`Round Midnight, Body and Soul, Take The "A" Train - which would also appear on his following album, the popular and beloved Lush Life). This unfortunately forgotten album serves as a nice bridge between his 80s Blue Note return and his popular latter day albums. Even though this album is a modest affair and nothing to get too excited about, here Joe still has a nice, full classic Blue Note-esque tone to his playing.
For New York Connection, Scott left his L.A. Express in California and ventured to the Big Apple to join forces with keyboardists Bob James and Richard Tee, guitarist Hugh McCracken, drummer Steve Gadd and others who like the saxman had decent jazz chops, but devoted much of their time to R&B/soul session work.
