Galleon is a video game developed by Toby Gard and Confounding Factor. Famously announced in Edge magazine in 1997, the game went through various incarnations and publishers before eventually being published by SCi in 2004 to fairly muted critical response. Lee Nicken composed the original soundtrack to this game but due to varying degrees of corrupt hand-overs to different publishers, and in the confusion of things, Nicklen was not even paid for his work and unbelievably not credited.

At that time Galleon was still a trio with Micke Värn, guitars - Göran Fors, bass and Vocals and Dan Fors, drums. They got help from producer and keyboard player Ulf Pettersson, who became later a permanent member of the band. At that time there were some Rush influences in their music…

Inspired by the artwork of Roger Dean and the writings of Ver Stanley Alder, Jon Anderson developed an entire story around the idea of an interstellar exodus from Sunhillow, writing this album around the narrative (named for the spaceship's architect, Olias). The idea may seem overly ambitious, but Anderson fills the record with enough magical moments to delight fans of Yes' mystic side.

Sven Larsson - Bad Mad Man (2012)

Sven Larsson - Bad Mad Man (2012)
Sweden | Mp3 320 Kbps | 110 MB
Melodic Rock / Wescoast AOR / Blues-Rock

“Bad Mad Man” is the title of Sven Larsson’s second solo album and the same formula was used as on “Sunlight And Shadow”, which was released in March of 2010: a mix of AOR and westcoast, a mix of vocal and instrumental tracks and the addition of several lead vocalists. If we omit the two instrumentals, “Green Unit” and “Welcome To My Island”, we’re left with 9 vocal tracks of which only 4 are sung by Larsson himself. Invited were Göran Edman & Anders Ahlund (each for 2 tracks) and Thomas Eriksson (for 1 track). Of course (and once again) this created a lot of variation, but this is exactly my point of criticism. Mr Larsson tries to get so much in one album that it loses the coherence, which is really a pity, because he knows to write and perform decent stuff. I can only hope that he finds the right direction for his third (crucial) album …

"Explorer " is the title of Cerys' fourth solo album and in both choosing and writing the songs she has sub consciously delved into the huge influence of not just all the music she has heard, but the places she has been around the globe, and by the times we live in, but most importantly made an album that over the seven days of recording had no pre determined sound or calculated format.
