After touring the world with Paul Simon and Sting in 2014/15, highly regarded saxophonist Andy Snitzer returns to his own musical journey, with his latest release American Beauty. The richly textured album combines Snitzer's love of modern textures and production techniques with his formative roots in R&B, Pop, and Soul. Featuring many of the same musical faces that populated Traveler (Snitzer's influential 2011 release), American Beauty is steeped in the same rich musical artistry, but with a decidedly R&B flavor. American Beauty also marks Snitzer's long-awaited return to Alto saxophone, on five of the ten cuts. American Beauty features special guest performances by Fourplay guitarist Chuck Loeb and Trumpeter Rick Braun.

Who's ready for a little early 80's Grateful Dead? For our last installment of the 2016 Dave's Picks series we are heeding that call with Boulder, CO, December 9, 1981. The last show of a 10-day run, Dave's Picks Volume 20 finds the band cranking out back-to-back high-energy sets; the first filled with superior Jerry moments (“Friend Of The Devil,” “Bird Song”) and a very rare 1-2 punch of Bobby songs ("Cassidy," "Looks Like Rain"). The second is a powerhouse of tight innovation with a nearly perfect "Scarlet>Fire," Brent's organs taking "Estimated" to an otherworldly level, and a double encore fit for "rock 'n' roll excellence."

Before he co-founded the Grateful Dead, Bob Weir spent a summer working and living on a ranch in Wyoming, sparking a lifelong fascination with the stories and songs of the American West. Blue Mountain, Weir's first solo album in over 10 years, brings his musical journey full circle. Working with producer Josh Kaufman, acclaimed songwriter Josh Ritter, guitarists Aaron and Bryce Dessner and bassist Scott Devendorf, Blue Mountain is a moody, highly textured modern interpretation of Weir's unforgettable experience.

Grayfolded is a two-CD album produced by John Oswald featuring the Grateful Dead song "Dark Star". Using over a hundred different performances of the song, recorded live between 1968 and 1993, Oswald, using a process he calls "plunderphonics", built, layered, and "folded" all of them to produce two large, recomposed versions, each about one hour long. The first disc of Grayfolded, titled Transitive Axis, was released in 1994, and the second disc, Mirror Ashes, was released in 1995, both on the Swell/Artifacts label.
