After leaving the Yardbirds as lead guitarist in 1967, Jeff Beck formed the Jeff Beck Group featuring Rod Stewart on vocals and Ron Wood on bass, releasing two albums 'Truth' in 1968 and 'Beck-Ola' in 1969. This long-awaited 24-bit digitally remastered version of 'Truth' is released with 8 bonus tracks. This album was Rod Stewart's first-ever album-length lead vocal showcase as an artist, and is regarded, along with 'Beck-Ola' as a musical touchstone for hard rockers in the years that followed. Collaborators on this album (and bonus tracks) include Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Nicky Hopkins, Aynsley Dunbar and Madeline Bell. Jeff Beck's three singles 'Tallyman', 'Love Is Blue' and 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' (First Stereo Mix) have been added as bonus track along with 'I've Been Drinking' (New Stereo Mix), 'You Shook Me' (Take One Mix), 'Rock My Plimsoul' (Stereo Mix), 'Beck's Bolero' (Mono Single Version with Backwards Guitar), 'Blues Deluxe' (Take 1 Mix) plus the gorgeous ballad 'I've Been Drinking' (B-side on 'Love Is Blue') which was omitted from the original album.

Blow by Blow typifies Jeff Beck's wonderfully unpredictable career. Released in 1975, Beck's fifth effort as a leader and first instrumental album was a marked departure from its more rock-based predecessors. Only composer/keyboardist Max Middleton returned from Beck's previous lineups. To Beck's credit, Blow by Blow features a tremendous supporting cast. Middleton's tasteful use of the Fender Rhodes, clavinet, and analog synthesizers leaves a soulful imprint. Drummer Richard Bailey is in equal measure supportive and propulsive as he deftly combines elements of jazz and funk with contemporary mixed meters. Much of the album's success is also attributable to the excellent material, which includes Middleton's two originals and two collaborations with Beck, a clever arrangement of Lennon and McCartney's "She's a Woman," and two originals by Stevie Wonder. George Martin's ingenious production and string arrangements rival his greatest work. Beck's versatile soloing and diverse tones are clearly the album's focus, and he proves to be an adept rhythm player.

Originally issued as two seperate albums, Truth and Beck-Ola are brought together here on one CD. Truth is the debut album by Jeff Beck, released in 1968 in the United Kingdom on Columbia Records and in the United States on Epic Records. It introduced the talents of his backing band The Jeff Beck Group, specifically Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, to a larger audience, and peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200. Beck-Ola is the second album by Jeff Beck, released in 1969 in the United Kingdom on Columbia Records and in the United States on Epic Records. It peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, and at No. 39 on the British album chart. The album’s title puns on the name of the Rock-Ola jukebox company.

Despite being the premiere of heavy metal, Jeff Beck's Truth has never quite carried its reputation the way the early albums by Led Zeppelin did, or even Cream's two most popular LPs, mostly as a result of the erratic nature of the guitarist's subsequent work…

Jeff Beck - Truth (1968) {2006 Epic Remaster}

The Jeff Beck Group's debut, 1968's TRUTH remains a stunner, probably the best work of the guitarist's long career. Perhaps energized by the bust-up of the Yardbirds, Beck is positively overflowing with ideas throughout the entire album, which pointedly starts with a completely different recasting of the Yardbirds hit "Shapes of Things." TRUTH then continues through an impressively varied set of tunes, ranging from an achingly slow, bluesy version of the Broadway standard "Ol' Man River" to a technically astounding acoustic solo version of "Greensleeves" and a killer pair of Willie Dixon covers including a take on "You Shook Me" that shreds Led Zeppelin's contemporaneous version. Throughout, the then-unknown Rod Stewart sings his heart out; he's as important to the album as Beck himself, and it's unsurprising that when Stewart and bassist Ron Wood left to form the Faces, the Jeff Beck Group never recovered.

LOUD HAILER, legendary guitarist Jeff Beck's first studio album in six years, combines fluid fretwork with topical lyrics to make a powerful statement about everything from the love of power, to the power of love. To help him write the 11 tracks on LOUD HAILER, Beck enlisted two fierce young females from London - singer Rosie Bones and guitarist Carmen Vandenberg. Beck produced LOUD HAILER with Filippo Cimatti, who also works with Rosie and Carmen. In addition to the core trio, the album also features drummer Davide Sollazzi and bassist Giovanni Pallotti, who were both recruited by Cimatti. Bones lends her powerful voice to nine of the 11 songs on LOUD HAILER, which is then rounded out by two signature Beck instrumentals.

"If the voice don't say it, the guitar will play it," raps Saffron on "Pork-U-Pine," the third track on Jeff Beck's minimally titled Jeff. And he does. Beck teams with producer Andy Wright, the man responsible for his more complete immersion into electronic backdrops on his last outing, You Had It Coming. This time the transition is complete. Beck used electronica first on Who Else!, moved a little more into the fire on You Had It Coming, and here merges his full-on Beck-Ola guitar heaviness with the sounds of contemporary spazz-out big beats and noise. Beck and Wright employ Apollo 440 on "Grease Monkey"…
