Filmed & recorded at the final two shows of Wayne’s last autumn 50+ date tour at Leeds Trinity and Workington Carnegie the release sees two DVD’s, one each from both shows, along with an audio CD. All in all a massive 50+ songs (more than 5 hours!) along with interviews and other extra’s too! Included are such faves as: Wither On The Vine, Severina, Swan Song, The Bouquets & The Bows, Butterfly On A Wheel, & Wasteland, as well as a selection of Wayne’s suitably maverick cover versions such as Careless Whisper, Martha’s Harbour, & All Along The Watchtower!
With the experimental warmth of '60s French films and the pizzicato flavor of horizontal hip-hop, Simon Green's Bonobo project established the welcome niche of a pretension-free, post-party intellectual chillout. An almost silent figure among Ibizian romanticists, Green began in Brighton, debuting in 1999 with a track on Tru Thoughts Recordings' When Shapes Join Together compilation. Though tempted by offers from Mute and XL after the official issue of "The Scuba EP" and the "Terrapin" single, Green stuck with Tru Thoughts for the acclaimed debut LP Animal Magic.
Years after the breakup of Siouxsie and the Banshees, the three core members (Siouxsie Sioux, Steven Severin and Budgie) plus final Banshees guitarist Knox Chandler reunited for an abbreviated tour of the US and the UK in 2002. The Seven Year Itch is a live album composed of performances recorded at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on July 9 and 10, 2002. Released by Sanctuary Records in 2003 (in CD and DVD formats), both critics and fans praised the tour and album as the Banshees concentrated not on radio hits, but both popular and obscure B-sides and album tracks, many pulled from their early albums.
After touring in 1999, Sarah McLachlan took a break, pretty much keeping to herself until she released her new album, Afterglow, earlier this year. McLachlan just completed her North American tour and will spend the rest of the year touring Europe, but, considering her taste for hiatus, who knows when she'll be back on the road. To tide fans over, McLachlan's people have prepped a new live CD/DVD package. On November 23 Afterglow Live will hit the shelves of your local music store. The set includes a 23-track DVD packaged with a 15-track CD.
A strange, lo-fi item. The first three gigs performed by the band captured on handheld. Sound was via a single, stereo condenser. Funnily enough, it struck a chord with many fans as it certainly places you in the middle of the crowd…
