"So what does the team that created the Eisner Award-Winning and do for a follow-up? Why, a book that takes place between both of those great stories, this time starring Catwoman," so wrote Eric Sunde of IGN. is a six-issue miniseries published in 2004, written by author Jeph Loeb and illustrated by artist Tim Sale. It accounts for the time Selina Kyla aka Catwoman spent in Rome when she left Gotham City during the events of to looking for her father. The events unfold in parallel to the later issues of . This is a caper and adventure story first and foremost, unlike Loeb's and Sale's two previous outings which are essentially mystery stories, and with the appearance of Edward Nygma aka The Riddler, it also has an added touch of humor. Still one of the best Catwoman stories ever.

In January 2008 Marvel launched a new Hulk title, written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Ed McGuinness. It features the debut of a new, Red Hulk, created by long-time supporting cast members of the title character, to combat, neutralize and ultimately destroy the uncontrollable Hulk. The Red Hulk is absolutely uninhibited and tactically intelligent, the anti-thesis of the Hulk. In trying to make sense of why is there a Red Hulk and all those other Hulk family members (I think writer Jeph Loeb is taking his sweet time to weave the various layers of the storylines together to their promised potential, or to flesh out whatever it is he has in mind since he places so much emphasis on extended slam-bang action sequences but I won't say it--uh-oh!), I collected the complete Hulk (Vol. 2 in library terms; Vol. 1 ran from April 1999–February 2000 for eleven issues) up to the present--and latest--issue, together with all the one-shots I could get my hands on. I think what I have is complete, but if not, please let me know. With the exception of issues #4-6 (which are themselves excellent Green Giant scans), all are Minutemen scans.

Thucydides of Athens, one of the greatest of historians, was born about 471 BCE. He saw the rise of Athens to greatness under the inspired leadership of Pericles. In 430, the second year of the Peloponnesian War, he caught and survived the horrible plague which he described so graphically. Later, as general in 423 he failed to save Amphipolis from the enemy and was disgraced. He tells about this, not in volumes of self-justification, but in one sentence of his history of the war–that it befell him to be an exile for twenty years. He then lived probably on his property in Thrace, but was able to observe both sides in certain campaigns of the war, and returned to Athens after her defeat in 404. He had been composing his famous history, with its hopes and horrors, triumphs and disasters, in full detail from first-hand knowledge of his own and others. The war was really three conflicts with one uncertain peace after the first; and Thucydides had not unified them into one account when death came sometime before 396. His history of the first conflict, 431-421, was nearly complete; Thucydides was still at work on this when the war spread to Sicily and into a conflict (415-413) likewise complete in his awful and brilliant record, though not fitted into the whole. His story of the final conflict of 413-404 breaks off (in the middle of a sentence) when dealing with the year 411. So his work was left unfinished and as a whole unrevised. Yet in brilliance of description and depth of insight this history has no superior. The Loeb Classical Library edition of Thucydides is in four volumes.

Right from the start Chesky Records had a sound. David Chesky set out to make “aural photographs” of each session, capturing as much of the sound of being there as the technology allowed, continually pushing it forward. Every note of every session was recorded “live,” there were no overdubs, no fixing it in the mix. What went down at the session, with some of the world’s greatest musicians, was in the CD, LP, or later on, high-resolution digital download.

Otis Redding says these words just before launching into “Respect” on April 8, 1966, wrapping up the first of seven sets he’d play over the course of three days at Los Angeles’ Whisky A Go Go. A few songs earlier, he first informed the crowd that they were recording the concert with plans of releasing it as an album, playing the newly-written “Good to Me” for the second time in nine songs simply because it was the single and they needed to get it right. For his ’66 stint at the Whisky A Go Go, he was backed by his road band, the Otis Redding Revue a ten-piece group similar to the bands who supported him whenever he toured the south. This is the residency that is captured in its entirety on Stax’s six-disc box Live at the Whisky A Go Go: the Complete Recordings.

This is a wonderful collection of all the great composer's known works, and is a must buy for anyone who enjoy's Rachmaninoff. While most of the recordings are not perhaps the absolute best that are out there, they are all still, for the most part, quite good. The only real issues I can find with this set are two rather small ones. On the recording of the symphonic poem The Isle of the Dead, there is an odd static-like sound that starts at about 17 minutes into the piece, which then disappears briefly, before reappearing once more. It is rather irritating, especially considering that the rest of the recording is very nice.
