Ronnie Earl's Maxwell Street is named in honour of blues pianist and previous member of the Broadcasters David Maxwell and is a nod to Chicago's Maxwell Street where blues musicians gathered to play outside for the Sunday market crowds. It confirms Ronnie Earl's status as one of the most soulful blues/soul/jazz guitarists working today. Earl is a three-time Blues Award winner as Guitarist Of The Year working with his band of over 25 years. This album is dedicated to my big brother David Maxwell. We were born on the same day ten years apart. His playing was a deep as the ocean, as high as the sky and as bright as a quasar. When he passed I felt a huge loss as I still do. David was a Broadcaster and he and I made a few records together…

You Got To Move by David Maxwell & Louisiana Red - Winner of the 2010 Blues Music Award for Acoustic Album of the Year!
Award-winning blues pianist David Maxwell teams up with longtime friend, slidemaster Louisiana Red for an untamed session of original songs and stories that recalls back rooms, roadhouses, and the earliest days of Chicago blues. Red is at his spontaneous best, and Maxwell complements and solos with sensitivity, fire and originality.
This is a long-overdue collaboration between two of the deepest bluesmen alive. David Maxwell and Louisiana Red met each other in the early 70s, when David was touring with Freddie King. Their paths would continue to cross in the decades that followed, and although they became good friends and often performed together, this is their first pure duo recording, and it summons the fire and spirit of the greatest days of Chicago blues.

Originally released 1969 on MPS Records Germany - which became world famous for Dave Pike´s Noisy Silence Gentle Noise released in the same era. This is a true jewel for all progressive music enthusiasts.Ahead of its time the album is an eclectic mixture of beat, psychedelia and little hints of jazz rock. The album is compared with the similarly styled debut of Burnin' Red Ivanhoe. 14 Minutes title song 'Maxwells Street' sounds like a continuation of the Rolling Stones' 'Their Satanic Majesty's Requests'. Lars Bisgaard and Bent Hesselmann later played with Rainbow Band. Comes with bonus tracks, digitally remastered from the original tapes and with informative booklet.

Maxwell spent part of the eight years between his third and fourth studio albums walking the Earth, attempting to experience a life resembling that of a human. One of neo-soul's most visible faces, along with Lauryn Hill and D'Angelo, he had been on the music industry's hamster wheel for most of his twenties and needed some tangible inspiration.

Cassandra Wilson's swinging for her own creative fences this time. The sultry, gentle, acoustic guitars on her last five recordings have been largely jettisoned for a more keyboard-and percussion -friendly approach – which includes lots of programming and loops. To that end, she's enlisted flavor-of-the-year producer T-Bone Burnett and keyboardist Keith Ciancia. This pair hired a stellar group of players that include drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Reginald Veal (a near-constant here), guitarists Colin Linden and Marc Ribot, and programming whiz Mike Elizondo. Mike Piersante plays "keypercussion" (read: drum loops), Jay Bellerose and Bill Maxwell…
