Greek Sea, World War II. An Italian ship leaves a handful of soldiers in a little island; their mission is to spot enemy ships and to hold the island in case of attack. The village of the island seems abandoned and there isn't a single enemy in sight, so the soldiers begin to relax a little. Things change when their ship is hit and destroyed by the enemy, and the soldiers find themselves abandoned there. Actually, the island isn't deserted and when the Greeks understand that those Italians are harmless, they came out of their hiding places in the mountains and continue their peaceful lives. Soon the soldiers discover that being left behind in a God-forgotten Greek island isn't such a bad thing, after all…

A comedy about stereotypical Italian soldiers. Draftees almost to a man, they are inefficient, clumsy, romantics and dreamers. They are sent to guard the least strategic island in WWII. Where are the enemy? Not here, just an island of women and children. Rapidly their radio is broken and weapons stolen, what can they do but join in the local culture. They have everything an Italian soldier could want; drink, drugs, prostitutes, sun, sand and sea. What can they do but relax and wait for the war to end.

After the success of their first album « A suivre », the PJBB members have now chosen the Mediterranean as a playground. In a festive and warm atmosphere, their music is sometimes full of energy, sometimes of sensuality. The big band is still conducted by trumpet player Nicolas Folmer and saxist Pierre Bertrand, who composed almost all the pieces, except for two that were composed by their guest, the accordion player Richard Galliano.

While Mediterraneo became known for their most commercial albums, the first couple of them definitely have a progressive edge. The band came from Alicante, formed in early 70's and led by keyboardist/singer Víctor Carratala and drummer Alfonso Linares.Due to the dictatorship in Spain the band changed a couple of names as ''Huevo Frito'' and ''Mandragora'' without releasing anything.By late-70's though a more intensive period starts for them with numerous gigs at festivals and clubs and the small local label Aphrodita decides to press their debut ''Estrechas calles de Santa Cruz'' in 1978.
