Born in Argentina to an American father and Irish mother, guitarist Dominic Miller was raised in the U.S. from age 10 and then educated there and in England. Now he lives in France, though he has toured the globe for the past three decades. Aptly, Silent Light Miller's ECM debut, featuring him solo and with percussion accompaniment has a very international feel, with the Latin influence strong in such pieces as Baden (dedicated to Brazilian guitarist-composer Baden Powell). Le Pont has an early 20th-century Parisian air, while Valium evokes Celtic tunes in the vein of Bert Jansch and Fields of Gold is a hushed instrumental take on one of Sting's best-known ballads. Miller has long been known as Sting's right-hand man on guitar and co-writer of the worldwide hit Shape of My Heart, among others. Miller has also worked with the likes of Paul Simon, The Chieftains and Plácido Domingo. The guitarist's playing has prompted praise from Simon, who points out, in a liner note to the album, that Miller has a beautiful touch, with a fragrance of jazz and English folk.

Frankie Miller is one of the great unsung rockers of the '70s, a blue-eyed soul singer on par with Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker who could also rock as hard as Bob Seger. All three of these artists recognized a kindred spirit in Miller, with all three covering his songs in the '70s and '80s. Like all hard-working rockers, Miller kept working right into the '90s, when he tragically suffered a brain hemorrhage while woodshedding a new band with Joe Walsh. After five months, he emerged from a coma but was paralyzed and lost his speech. His friends did their best to keep his legacy alive, a mission that peaks with 2016's Frankie Miller's Double Take. Instigated by the curiosity of Rod Stewart, producer David Mackay asked Miller's wife if there were any unreleased songs…

Canadian artist, composer and musician Rick Miller is among the veterans of the Canadian music scene, with a recording career that goes all the way back to 1983. "Dark Dreams" is his ninth full-length studio production, and was released in the spring of 2012. Since Rick Miller decided to start exploring progressive rock some 15 years ago, he has produced albums of a particular and rather uniform nature. Generally gentle and dampened in mood, smooth arrangements with dark undercurrents, while occasional use of exotic sounds have added a nice bit of variation to the proceedings. The overall impression has been a type of music closely related to 70's Pink Floyd, but with somewhat more of a tranquil overall sound. His production "Dark Dreams" follows closely in the footsteps of its predecessors. Occasional exotic timbres, atmospheric guitar solos in David Gilmour’s style, gentle symphonic-tinged backdrops and calm, pleasant lead vocals…
