Hardline was born from a union between brothers Johnny and Joey Gioeli and Neal Schon (Journey) and Deen Castronovo, who were just coming out of the wildly successful Bad English. After the massive debut album, Double Eclipse, they returned 10 years later with II and two more albums followed. Fast forward to 2016 and Human Nature is the heaviest and strongest album since their beloved debut. The combination of Gioeli's vocals, Josh Ramos' incendiary riffs and Alessandro Del Vecchio's musical and production talents have created an album for the ages. A must for melodic hard rock fans.
To commemmorate the 20th anniversary of Drew's passing, a very special series was launched in Japan in 2013, with a release of previously unpublished materials recorded for the two labels between 1972 and 1992. Most of them are alternate takes and takes that did not make onto the original albums released in this period. Danish super-bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen held the bass chair throughout, and the drummer is either Ed Thigpen, a fellow American expat who had settled in Copenhagen, or Alvin Queen.
Reissue with latest 2015 DSD remastering. Comes with liner notes. An excellent album of tunes with a cool Konitz-like sound – featuring the vastly under-discovered reed work of Lenny Hambro, with piano by Eddie Costa, and guitar by either Sal Salvador or Barry Galbraith. The tracks are short and angular – but have a particularly soulful groove in the mix, one that's really surprising, considering that the overall package makes you think the record would be some sleepy over-wrought major label jazz side. Swings like a mofo from a label like Storyville or Bethlehem – and with tracks that include "Comin Thru", "Blue Light", "I Love You Much Too Much", "Libation For Celebration", and "My Future Just Passed".
On June 12, 1993, IQ performed a concert at the Stadthalle in Kleve, Germany, to mark the release of Ever, the band's first studio album in four years (and its first with original singer Peter Nicholls since 1985). Finally the classic video tape of the Ever-album release show is now available on DVD. Including lots of bonus materials like: Scenes from the day, Encore and Intermission, Early Versions, Photo Gallery…
