Nordic folk-jazz chanteuse Rebekka Bakken was the most successful exponent of a new generation of Scandinavian jazz singers that also included Silje Nergaard, Sidsel Endresen, and Solveig Slettahjell. On this new album Rebekka interprets the songs of Tom Waits.
Ten volumes into their seemingly never-ending, always-excellent By the Bayou series, Ace returns to R&B for Mad Dogs, Sweet Daddies & Pretty Babies. Like nearly all of its predecessors, this is primarily archival – i.e., there aren't a lot of familiar names, but there are acts that have popped up on previous Bayou installments because, at this point, it's been proven that the well is deep but not fathomless. Newly discovered cuts by unknowns can hardly be called "recycling," and this, like its cousins, is pretty close to straight-up aural dynamite.

Jim Capaldi, Gordon Jackson, Dave Meredith, Luther Grosvenor, and John 'Poli' Palmer - collectively known as the Deep Feeling - came close in 1966 to being the "next big thing" to come out of the West Midlands. As events would have it, the group folded when on the verge of success, leaving behind precious few recordings previously unavailable until now. Sunbeam Records has finally done the group justice by issuing this CD that will help ensure their place in the region's rich rock music history…
After celebrating their 30th Anniversary as a band and the release of their latest monumental release “Motherland”, the Danish melodic hard rockers are serving the fans with "Louder Than Ever". This is not a completely new album but consists of seven re-recorded classic songs from the 1995 - 2006 era plus four brand new songs! PRETTY MAIDS reminded why they are great, displaying old platter with new stuff to chew on. As always every track is a little masterpiece, each piece of sound is well worked. Japanese edition includes the bonus track.
