The group SamulNori, which takes its name from the selfsame style of Korean folk music and was founded in 1978 by Kim Duk Soo as a means of expanding the music’s compass of awareness, combines its namesake’s balance of ritual and humble beginnings with contemporary leanings. Samul nori is at heart a percussive genre. Its four instruments are the jing (large gong), the kkwaenghwari (small gong), the janggu (hour-glass drum), and the buk (barrel drum). Each is its own element—wind, thunder, rain, and clouds, respectively—and brings a fertile sound to bear upon a range of ecologically minded texts, both recited and sung. SamulNori members have worked with, among others, Bill Laswell and Kodo, but perhaps most notably with Red Sun, a jazz outfit that was the brainchild of saxophonist and flutist Wolfgang Puschnig and with whom SamulNori had its first meeting eight years prior to this influential record.

Doom Metal/Rock | Black Metal | Mp3 220 VBR | 83 MB | Norway

Out of the black metal vaults slithers a perfect split just for the metal eclectic icepick wielding
schizos! The gems of doom 'Side Nebulah' were long dead and petrified only to be exhumed and offered up to the gods in all of their original pristine otherworldly lo-fi beauty.
Engangsgrill is the best of both worlds, featuring two very Norwegian tall cool ones,
the legendary Nattefrost of Carpathian Forest and Fenriz of Darkthrone.

In March of 2011, Japan fell victim to a tragedy; an earthquake and tsunami the likes of which the Japanese people had never seen. The Fukushima nuclear plant suffered a core meltdown, spreading radiation - and fear - across the country…

If Wacken shows Deep Purple's performance in front of a huge rock audience, playing as if they had to leave all their habits behind, the Tokyo show is presenting Deep Purple completely at ease with their history and themselves. On the very same venue where the band has written rock history with the album “Made In Japan”, Deep Purple went on stage without nostalgia and with the attitude of a band that is physically led by the music, making playing a perfect show look as the most natural thing one could do. Song after song, Purple play a flawless show going back and forth in time…

he album is a continuation of Bush's multi-layered and multiple musical pursuits and interests. If not her strongest work – a number of songs sound okay without being particularly stellar, especially given Bush's past heights – Red Shoes is still an enjoyable listen with a number of diversions…

No Sun - If Only (2017)
Indie Rock, Shoegaze, Alternative | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 00:40:49 | 96 MB
Label: The Native Sound | Release Year: 2017

Since their formation just a couple of years ago, Salt Lake City’s No Sun have been quietly crafting loud, confident, and modern shoegaze. Originally a solo project for singer/ guitarist Jordon Strang to experiment with, No Sun has since grown into a nuanced and voluminous four piece. In the tradition of Swervedriver and Failure, and contemporaries like Nothing and Pity Sex, No Sun’s debut album ‘If Only’ swells with walls of reverb and texture. It’s shoegaze for those who can appreciate the loudest and dreamiest aspects of the genre. Lyrically, the album leans mostly toward introspection and existential doubt, and Jordon's coping with depression, anxiety, and love.

Sun Electric is the German duo of Tom Thiel and Max Loderbauer currently on hiatus, but resurrected every so often in each decade so far, starting from the early 90's. 30.7.94 Live was recorded at the Tripping on Sunshine Ambient festival in Ørstedsparken, Copenhagen, Denmark and pressed on CD in 1995 directly from the original DAT masters. That's the reason why you won't hear crowd noise or backcoupling at all - in fact, the audio quality is magnificent and you cannot distinguish this live album from any of their other studio albums sound-wise, despite the hint given in its title, of course. The purity and incredible warmth are still mind-blowing to this very day, making the album a timeless classic.
