The prototype for the later Cliff Richard Collection U.S. release, Private Collection is, in fact, a dramatically public one, compiling 24 of Cliff Richard's 31 British chart entries spanning the decade 1979-1988. Chronologically, "Green Light" and the monster "We Don't Talk Anymore" open the show; the festive "Mistletoe and Wine" closes it, and in between times, Richard's journey through some distinctly Elton John/Billy Joel-shaped territory finds him alternately unleashing some startlingly memorable material, and some surprisingly lackluster muck – just like Elton and Billy, in fact. From 1981, the awful "Daddy's Home" would not have been out of place flapping around his late '60s dog days; from 1980, "Carrie" stands proudly among his finest ever performances.

Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset is the solo debut of Richard Edwards, known for over a decade prior as the man behind the thoughtful indie rock of Margot & the Nuclear So and So's. It's not really a solo debut in a strict sense – Edwards was always his band's singer, main songwriter, and sole consistent member, and a number of guest musicians join him here. What's significant is that it's the first album under his own name, and one that follows a period of personal upheaval.

Dawn Angeliqué Richard, the daughter of Chocolate Milk percussionist and vocalist Frank Richard, known professionally as Dawn Richard or D∆WN, is an American singer-songwriter, actress and animator. "Redemption" is her fourth studio album. Upon its release, Redemption received widespread acclaim from critics. Tara Joshi of Quietus stated "It’s orchestral, it’s odd, it’s experimental, it’s ornate, it makes you want to dance, it makes you want to swoon - at its heart Redemption is reflective of so many touchstones of black music from the past 30 years or so. It feels odd to say what Richard is doing is still perhaps too niche to get her a place in the R&B ‘Hot 100’, given her sound is so broad and all-encompassing, but its true. Richard has carved out an ambitiously futuristic place for herself that the mainstream hasn’t quite caught up with yet".

One of the most striking features of the twelve symphonies that Haydn composed for London between 1791 and 1795 is the strong sense of rapport between the composer and the intended audience. It was a popularity that he nurtured so that the tastes and enthusiasm of his audience were gradually developed. – for Haydn, popularity went hand in hand with artistic integrity. The three symphonies recorded here were all premiered in different seasons and reveal these qualities to the full.

Jaco Mylan is like any other 11-year-old boy. He loves rugby, dancing and washing machines. Jaco also has autism. In this intimate documentary, Welsh actor Richard Mylan reflects on his experience of raising a son on the autistic spectrum. Like all parents, Richard wants Jaco to be happy and independent, but he's well aware that having a child with special needs means you have to plan further into the future. Will Jaco be able to get a job? Where will he live? How much support will he need? Through spending time with adults on the autistic spectrum, Richard comes across funny, surprising and inspiring individuals who have their own unique take on living with this lifelong condition.

The main instrument on this recording, a double manual harpsichord built in 2011 by Colin Booth, is derived from a single manual instrument by the Hamburg builder, Johann Christoph Fleischer and is dated 1710. The original is housed in the Musikinstrumenten-Museum in Berlin. There are two eight-foot registers strung in iron and red brass, a four-foot stop and a harp or buff stop. The temperament is my own modification of Neidhardt and the pitch is 415hz. The instrument used for the Toccata in D major, also by Colin Booth, is a copy of a 17th century single manual Italian harpsichord with two eight foot registers. Pitch A=440hz, tuned to Werkmeister III.

Composer, arranger, guitarist and producer, Richard Niles' "Bandzilla Rises" CD according to drummer, Danny Gottlieb, "is a masterpiece of contemporary music that the music world needs now more than ever". Sporting fourteen distinctive originals by Niles (both music and lyrics) it includes titles like LA Existential and Stone Jungle to Tip for a Toreador and The 5th Elephant. Don't even ask about making sense of the titles or interpreting the lyrics, etc as being an arranger myself there is not enough that I can enthuse about of the writing and performing aspects of this recording. Quite complex and sophisticated throughout yet accessible and sending a very positive message with no shortage of wit and blindingly stupendous instrumental soloing and craftwork.

The playing and singing of Hickox’s own orchestra and chorus are always mindful of stylistic matters, crisp and airy in the sensuous dance music, urgent and theatrical (in the best sense) in passionate sections of the score, which Hickox holds together in exemplary manner (Gramophone Magazine). Hickox conducts with a fine sense of theatre, as well as an aptly Gluckian restraint…Palmer is remarkable at her best, and her duet with Rolfe Johnson ('Armide, vous m'allez quitter') is memorably done (International Record Review).
