Snakes & Arrows is the nineteenth studio album, and the eighteenth of all-original material, by the Canadian rock band Rush. The album was recorded in five weeks between November and December 2006 at Allaire Studios in New York’s Catskill Mountains. It was their first studio outing since 2004's Feedback, and their last studio album officially with Atlantic Records. The album was named as one of Classic Rock‘s 10 essential progressive rock albums of the decade.

Permanent Waves is the band’s seventh studio album, released on New Year’s Day, 1980. It was recorded at Le Studio, Morin Heights, Quebec, and mixed at Trident Studios in London. The tracks were laid down just shy of four weeks, in part attributed to the idyllic working conditions of Morin Heights. The album marks a transition from long, conceptual pieces, into a more accessible, radio-friendly style.

This 1977 release, the band's fifth studio album, was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and mixed in London's Advision Studios. It became the band's first U.S. gold-selling album within two months of release, and went platinum. The singles included "Closer to the Heart" and "Cinderella Man" while the album peaked at #33 on the Billboard 200 and #22 on the U.K. album charts.

Another favorite of true Rush fans, this sixth studio album, released in 1978, once more explored fantasy and science fiction themes in Neil Peart’s lyrics. The final track, the ambitious nine-and-a-half minute La Villa Strangiato, was the band’s first instrumental. The album peaked at #47 on the Billboard charts, and was the group’s fourth consecutive gold album in the U.S., featuring the singles The Trees and Circumstances.
