Their 13 album shows Space Debris with their so far best sound, not least due to the new entry of bass player Janni Schmitt (known by the last Miller Anderson tour). The band has developed its style and added new sounds, keyboard chorals remembering of Deep Purples 'April'. Space, hardrock and jazz elements lead to the typical Space Debris feeling. Each song tells a different story and seems to have it's own colour. The cover describes the musical journey for the listener: in the room behind the door. Song after song, the listener can open the doors and drift into space together with the band.

Space Debris hail from the Odenwald region in Germany. The members' main concern is to play improvised music reminiscent to 70s krautrock and psychedelic bands. The group started as a trio comprised of Tommy Gorny (guitar), Tom Kunkel (Hammond organ) and Christian Jäger (drums). Supported by many friends having guest appearances they already could produce six albums starting with the year 2002. If you're keen on ambitious jamming music you should check out Space Debris by all means…

The Hammond is the main reason for a wide range of styles given within their explorations, also including bluesy and jazzy themes as well as heavy prog…

In 2010 the electronic duo Boeoes Kaelstigen released their post-apocalyptic debut album - Tanum Teleport - an album that received major waves around the world and among many praises received a Grammy nomination in Sweden. Now it’s time for the succeeder, and a new atmosphere is now painted on their patented space canvas - The Big Feelings. Technocratic concepts are now sharing center stage with stories about love. Even the instrumental tracks are filled with more depth and warmth than ever. The new works by Boeoes Kaelstigen mark a giant leap forward for electronically enhanced pop music.

Some of the finer CTI recordings of the late '70s were those led by flugelhornist Art Farmer. Although the emphasis was generally on obscure material (in this case Farmer plays one original, two songs by Dave Grusin and one piece by pianist Fritz Pauer) and often featured musicians who did not normally play together, the results were generally quite rewarding. For this CTI LP (long out-of-print), the focus is almost entirely on Farmer who is joined by keyboardist Grusin, guitarist Eric Gale, flutist Jeremy Steig, either Will Lee or George Mraz on bass and drummer Steve Gadd. The moody music holds one's interest throughout.

Portland-based psychedelic improv rock ensemble SubArachnoid Space are not a "jam band" in the pejorative, trustafarian-hippie sense of that term. For one thing, the members don't attempt lame funk or sing quirky songs (indeed, they don't sing at all). For another, there's a decided darkness about their music, as befits a group named for the part of the central nervous system that separates the blood from the brain in the cerebral cavity. This stuff is meant to be heard late at night, maybe on headphones with all the lights off. While earlier records (the ones with founding guitarist Mason Jones still in the band) were drifting and spacy, this album, which is dominated by the instrumental voice of Melynda Jackson, frequently heads into hard rock/metal territory - the last three or so minutes of the 13-minute "Hunter Seeker" are positively Led Zeppelin-esque…

Label: Bonsound Records | Release Year: 2016

Since releasing their debut album The Chase back in 2013, Montreal indie folk pop band Groenland are returning with their sophomore effort A Wider Space on September 16th, 2016. After two years of touring in support of The Chase, Groenland regrouped and hit a more personal and intimate level of songwriting for the new album. A first look into A Wider Spaces comes in the form of the lead single Healing Suns . Colourful, synth-pop melodies mixed with a touch of jazz, and the band s signature orchestral arrangements makes the new single irresistible, giving A Wider Space a strong first step forward. Although the song is drenched in colour and a contagious energy, its meaning originates from a darker place, as the band explains: Healing Suns is a song that represents the rediscovery of our own light after a long period of doubt. But as the sun rises on their re-structured confidence, the band returns to their warm-spirited nature and songwriting.

Nik Turner is one of the founding members of Hawkwind. He was a member from 1969 to 1976 and rejoined the band from 1982 to 1984. Turner played saxophone and flute and he occasionally sang. "Space Gypsy" (2013) features Turner's vocals, and his trademark saxophones and flutes front a quintet whose sound is drenched in synths, mellotrons, electric guitars, and drums. His vocals are awash in reverb but they ride cleanly just above the instrumental fray. While this music isn't so much prog as cosmic rock, it has enough weirdness in both its production and with the man himself singing of Mayans, space aliens, multidimensional realities, and mystic and occult practices to please most acid travelers…
