Virus, from the Bielefeld area in Westphalia, were the best and most famous local progressive group there in the early seventies. In 1970, they won the well-known competition in the Recklinghausen Vestlandhalle - still under their old name of Man’s World. The first prize: Recordings for their first own LP, under the direction of sound magician Conny Plank. That LP, “Revelation”, was released in 1971 and is partly reminiscent of the early Pink Floyd, e.g. in the final part of “Endless game”. On the CD edition on Garden of Delights, the two songs of the first Virus 7” single have been added as bonus tracks…

Virus Divine (2005). "Virus Divine" is the debut CD by American band Little King. The album was mixed and co-produced by Terry Brown, the famous veteran sound engineer and producer, whose name is associated with several progressive outfits, though above all certainly with Rush. The fact that Mr. Brown has taken care of the album's sound is evident throughout the recording, and it doesn't seem to be accidental that he was asked to put the finishing touches to the production. More than half of the contents point Rush out as Little King's only passion (thankfully not all-absorbing), as there are no other extraneous traces on "Virus Divine", except those of that one of the most influential acts of the second Progressive Rock generation…

They've done this in the past, back in the days of 'Masque' and 'Do They Hurt', when where they'll do one or two numbers with a 'steppin' out' rhythm (examples: AWB's 'Pick Up the Pieces' and Janet Jackson's 'What Have You Done For Me Lately'), but fully half of this album has that same quarter note-driven rhythm. It's an interesting mix–that sort of beat behind guitarist Goodsall's crisp tonalities. The track 'Virus' at nearly eight minutes is the longest one they've done in at least fifteen years. This album isn't as minimalist as its predecessor 'Xcommunication', which was based almost entirely on guitar, bass and drums–they use a session keyboarist occasionally, along with some new MIDI-powered synth and sampler tonalities done by Goodsall.

Charlie was a British rock band that was formed in 1971 by singer/songwriter Terry Thomas and they released four albums in their career up to 1986. They toured extensively in America and the UK supporting amongst others Fleetwood Mac, The Kinks, The Doobie Brothers, And Alice Cooper. Charlie were an ‘almost’ band, had strong critical reviews, and radio friendly hits including ‘Men without Hats’. But a combination of bad management and record company indifference, meant they never actually made the Top 100. Their last studio album ‘Kitchens of Distinction’ came out in 2009. For this final album Elysium, writer/guitarist/producer/singer Terry Thomas has recruited original members Julian Colbeck, and Martin Smith, along with Jeff Becks drummer Steve Alexander.

When news started to circulate that the legendary guitar duo from Mercyful Fate, Michael Denner and Hank Shermann were putting together a supergroup called Denner/Shermann, there was a collective breath taken in the Metal world. When the line-up was completed with Mercyful Fate, King Diamond and Dream Evil drummer Snowy Shaw, Demonica’s Marc Grabowski on bass and the spectacular vocal range of DeathDealer and CAGE vocalist Sean Peck, that breath was quickly taken away. With the band’s October 2015 release of the “Satan’s Tomb” EP, all air was sucked out of the atmosphere with a huge gasp. This is the stuff Metalhead dreams and others’ nightmares are made of. Their EP was received with rave reviews and with a deafening scream for more material. That wish, thankfully, comes true June 24th, 2016 with the Metal Blade release of Denner / Sherann’s “Masters of Evil”.
